Modern Fence Concept: Hedge

Walking down Deleware Street through the River Market this morning and noticed Max Kaiser's Shop sells Ranka...lasting greenery that looks great! Also known as faux boxwood, or faux ivy. More expensive than the real thing, but it's one and done. No need to trim or water this baby. Just do the quarterly rinse off with the hose to get it shinin' again!

I think it would make a fine privacy fence. Don't you?

Now I'm wondering, at the end of the day...how would it price out compared to a cedar fence. Probably more...but if I do the math I'll letcha know.

Cheers To: Something Beautiful

Cheers to something original...

And something practical...

To something cool...

To something edgy...

And basic...

 And simply beautiful.

Kid Stuff: Artwork

Tegegne, Hensley, and I have enjoyed coloring lately. Even when I get out three coloring books, they end up migrating to my book and all three of us color on the same page, bumping hands and all. I was thinking that we should pull out more than our coloring books this week and found these ideas from 2 creative friends. The last image is a sweet collection of kids artwork.

A Getaway: St. Louis

Welp, we got out of town for a bit and I forgot to leave one of those sweet little notes here that said "See you in a week!" We first visited The Ranch, Big Sky Ranch, that is. Stayed there for a week and relaxed. Then visited Uncle Eric (my brother) and Aunt Erica in St. Louis. And now we're home. We really enjoyed ourselves. (Thanks for hosting us, dear family.)

Tegegne, you really wanted to see the cheetas at the St. Louis Zoo, as they are your favorite animal at the moment. They were hiding. Silly cheetas. You were quite understanding though. We did have a good time watching the penguins and puffins, elephants, and bears.

Saturday we spent the morning at the South Tower Grove Farmers Market. The live music (Brothers Lazaroff), fountain/pool, and watermelon basil soda were quite awesome.

The best part of the weekend was our time with Eric and Erica. Hensley was in Aunt Erica's arms most of the weekend, and Tegegne hung out in Uncle Eric's lap (by hung out I mean "jumped around"). A few more highlights were the wicked beats and fantastic sounds that Ababayeh and Hensley played on Eric's organ, and Erica's ceramics show

Did I mention that I love E & E's decor in their house? I would have taken more photos but Michael and I walked in and quickly re-arranged the place so Hensley didn't break any of Erica's one-of-a-kind works of art or Eric's antique banjo and other cool things.

Love,

Mom

P.S. Oh, and for the sake of remembering these little milestones...Hensley, while on our trip you made your way to the big toilet twice and with Ababayeh's help pooped and peed! Hooray!

Erica Iman: Ceramics Show

Erica, seriously amazing show. These photos are just a glimpse into what the experience felt like walking around your show Saturday night. I wish I could post your artist statement that goes with these works. It was beautiful and seriously good. It was such a great night celebrating you and all of the work you've accomplished. What you've done, and what's yet to come! I also am beyond excited that we got one of your drawings! (We bought the middle drawing/pouring...she takes black oxide and pours on the canvas in many containers and then sprays water, etc...and that beautiful magic happens!)

Love, love,

Kristyn
